100,000 | Antonio Esfandiari’s lunge bet goes awry

Antonio Esfandiari

We talked about Antonio Esfandiari and his love for prop bets last week not knowing that “The Magician” would find himself in hot water (no pun intended) just a few days later after his latest prop bet would lead to his disqualification from the Main Event at the 2016 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure, losing over 100,000 chips and a chance at winning his first title of the season.

High stakes player Bill Perkins bet Esfandiari he couldn’t lunge his way around Atlantis for a period of time … you read right, lunging instead of walking! Well, Esfandiari decided it would be best to relieve himself at the poker table instead of having to lunge to the bathroom at one point during tournament play. Unfortunately, EPT officials didn’t appreciate the gesture and decided to eliminate him from the competition.

The story does have a somewhat silver lining, however … more on that in tomorrow’s post!
