It was on this day in 2004 where John Juanda would become the very 1st winner on the PPT – the Professional Poker Tour, defeating Chris Bigler heads-up for the title. The tour was operated by the WPT.
The first event would be presented as part of the World Poker Finals at the Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, Connecticut.
