It was on this day, one year ago today, that star UK player John Eames would collected the biggest win of his career, in the Main Event at WSOP Circuit Las Vegas, hosted by the Planet Hollywood Hotel & Casino.
Eames would go on to outlast 1,043 opponent en route to the career win, which earned him a $289,706 payday. He defeated fellow pro Matt Berkey heads-up for the circuit ring.
This marked the seventh time Eames has won on the live tournament poker circuit.
