Inspired by a PokerNews: Ten Years of High Stakes Poker article celebrating the 10th anniversary of the debut of ‘High Stakes Poker’ on GSN in America, we’ll take a look at some of our favorite hands from the iconic TV show.
Poker stars Antonio Esfandiari and Phil Laak love to find new ways to have fun – or get themselves in trouble from time to time – and on this episode of poker, their proposal on adding a little twist to a regular hold’em cash game would create one of the most memorable hands ever played on High Stakes Poker.
The twist? A player winning a pot holding 2-7 would be paid an extra $500 by each player at the table. The goal, obviously, is to create action and boy were sparks ever flying between lifetime rivals Phil Hellmuth and Mike Matusow … enjoy!
