It’s taken a while since the Amateur Poker Association and Tour announced their Season 8 schedule for them to provide further details of their flagship event, the World Championship of Amateur Poker. The venue, Aspers Casino Stratford, and the dates, 28th March to 6th April 2015 had been confirmed, but now we have a full schedule. And what a schedule it is. Twenty bracelet events across ten days in the heart of the capital. Although final buyins and structures are to be confirmed, it is widely expected that the main event will see a buyin of £110, with the side events priced at £55 (excluding the Hi Roller at £220).
Never before has the UK seen such a wide variety of poker variants within one festival, and at those entry levels, there’s not a poker player in the UK that could not find a game that suits. APAT will run their usual set of satellites, so you will be able to get into the events on the cheap.
Although the events are only open to amateur players, we would imagine that their will be a lot of professional players looking at this schedule and wishing they had a day job outside of poker so they could take part.
