The PokerListings 3-Bet is a dope beat, a Neumann TLM-102 and a headful of rhymes ready to drop at the afternoon poker news rap battle.
Anything you want to see in a future 3-Bet? Tell us where to find it in the comments.
Today in the 3-Bet we find Chris Moorman on the mic, the Libratus AI making some noise and Jamie Gold throws a secret-filled after party.
1) Moorman Goes Live
As much as we wish this was an announcement of Chris Moorman about to be in a freestyle rap battle with Barny Boatman, it’s just a humble Facebook Live Q&A.
Will still be cool, though. Also: no harm in asking if he’ll do a quick freestyle for you anyway.
Get over ther, stat!
2) Libratus Stretches Out Lead
The table theme looks like it’s MS Paint and the turn and river tanking by the AI are a bit tilting but this Brains vs AI Challenge ongoing at Rivers Casino has been pretty engaging so far.
After two days and 8,840 hands Libratus is now up a daunting $150,126 but there were some good signs for the humans yesterday.
For one, Jimmy Chou is now ahead of Libratus and Jason Les and Dong Kim more or less played the AI to a standstill. Adjustments they’ve made and will continue to make should turn this around.
Either way it’s fun to follow, which you can do on four separate Twitch streams right here.
3) Jamie Gold Gives Away Million Dollar Secrets!
The Giving Back Fund’s “Big Game Big Give” Charity Fundraiser in Houston was voted the #1 Super Bowl Party by ESPN Magazine last year and it sounds like for good reason.
This invitation-only event “brings together philanthropists, celebrities, sports legends and world leaders” (!) for a huge event with a celebrity host (Josh Brolin this year), live and silent auctions and, importantly, a $2k per seat VIP Celebrity Poker After Party.
This “exclusive experience is limited to just 160 players” who will share the tables this year with, among others, After Party co-hosts in Olympic legend Michael Phelps and the inimitable Jamie Gold.
Not only do the Top 20 players get their autographed, custom BBO poker tables and chips shipped to their home, they also get to reap the rewards of some pre-tourney Jamie Gold coaching where he reveals the “Million Dollar Secrets of the Pros!”
Sounds like a deal and a half – and in support of some great causes. Ticket info can be found here.
