The PokerListings Daily 3-Bet is the Super Bowl of mid-afternoon poker news except with fewer deflated balls and more Poker Brat puns.
In today’s Daily 3-Bet we’ll take a look at the newest addition to the $10m MTT club, John Duthie’s ambitious plans and the greatest poker + football clip ever recorded.
1) Bryan Paris Cracks $10m
Ever heard of Bryan Paris? You will.
The Californian became just the second player ever to crack the $10m mark in MTTs yesterday, according to PocketFives.
Prior to yesterday Chris Moorman was the only player to accumulate $10m online so it’s safe to say Paris is in very good company.
Paris plays on most of the major sites but he’s racked up nearly $6m on PokerStars alone. He also has just over $700,000 in live tournament earnings.
If you have never heard of Paris, he’s a father, poker coach and fairly consistent streamer on Twitch.tv.
Originally from Menlo Park, Paris relocated to Amsterdam, NL, after Black Friday to continue his grind.
Paris will have to put in some volume if he ever hopes to catch Moorman, however, as the U.K. pro is now up to $13.8m all time.
2) Duthie: “We Have a Duty to Make the Game More Enjoyable”
We were quite excited to learn that John Duthie will be heading up partypoker LIVE in the near future.
Duthie was the brains behind the EPT and could potentially give the live tournament scene a much-needed jolt.
He sat down with partypoker yesterday to talk about his hopes for the future. You can read the entire interview on partypoker but check out this excerpt:
Worldwide poker events have been lacklustre and something needs to change or they’ll fade into oblivion. We all have a duty to the game to make it more enjoyable. I think that the team at partypoker have shown that they’re making inroads into making the game more enjoyable again; more so than anyone else.
It’s like throwing a party, really: You just need all the right ingredients.
Sounds good to us.
3) Poker Pros Are Less Than Ideal Football Kickers
It’s the Super Bowl this week and while there’s not a lot of poker and football crossover these days (outside of Richard Seymour) but we do have one glorious video that combines the two pastimes.
We’re talking about the classic ESPN The Nuts segment Erick Lindgren, Josh Arieh, Bill Gazes and Daniel Negreanu competed in a football kicking prop bet.
Gazes has a unique style, to say the least.
Enjoy your Super Bowl Weekend, people!
