Actress/poker poker player Jennifer Tilly leads the 2017 Aussie Millions Main Event after a blusterous Day 2 that saw over 200 eliminations.
Tilly, who was also among the Day 1b chip leaders, was only player who got close to cracking the half-million chip mark with 497,100 chips.
Stephen Bantik held down second place in chips with 411k while the rest of the pack failed to accumulate more than 400,000 chips.
Tilly hasn’t played the Aussie Millions since 2008 but is certainly making the most of her trip Down Under so far.
Fedor Holz in the Hunt
World-renowned “recreational” poker player Fedor Holz played a lot like Fedor Holz on Day 2 accumulating 140,000 chips in an hour of play.
Holz wasn’t able to hold that stack but still finished with an above-average amount of chips and will no doubt be looking to make some noise on Day 3.
Of course Holz already made the final table of the $100k Challenge (which plays out this weekend) so he’s pretty much freerolling at this point anyways.
Some of the other notables still in the tournament include Erik Seidel, Cate Hall, Shane Warne, Dominik Nitsche and Nick Petrangelo.
A total of 80 players will make the money in this year’s Aussie Millions Main Event with AUD$1.6 million set aside for first place.
Registration was open until the start of Day 2, which saw a few more players trickle into the Crown Casino, and increased the final number of entries for this year’s tournament to 725.
