MPN Poker Tour Tbilisi: Huge guarantee to play for in Georgia

Not going to the WSOP this summer? Qualify for the latest stop on the MPN Poker Tour and play for a total guaranteed prize pool of $400,000 this May!

There’s never been a bettertime to play live poker in Europe. After a successful first year, with stops in London, Malta and Tallinn, the MPN Poker Tour is back and it’s ramping things up for its next tournament in Tbilisi, in partnership with Adjarabet.com.

The Main Event takes place May 28-31 in the prestigious surroundings of the Sports Palace, and it’s guaranteeing an incredible $250k for a $550 buy-in! That’s a serious amount of cash for a small outlay. Even better, you can qualify for a €1,500 package online with any of the participating card rooms on the Microgaming Network from €0.25.

The €1,500 packages include entry into the main event and a $100 buy-in ($100k guaranteed) side event, four nights at the Holiday Inn, a drinks reception and €400 for travel and expenses. If you want to make a holiday of it you can take a friend for an extra €15 a night in the hotel you can transfer your side event ticket so they’re not stuck on the rail.

Bigger and better

Tbilisi is the MPN Poker Tour’s fourth stop and it’s the biggest yet with a total of $400k guaranteed. The tour, founded in 2014, has already crowned ten winners in a variety of events across Europe, including no-limit hold’em, five-card Omaha and open face Chinese.

In 2015, the MPN Poker Tour announced its Player of the Year award, in conjunction with the Global Poker Index. The winner earns free entry into all of the MPN Poker main events in 2016. And, with Tbilisi set to be the biggest stop yet, do well here and you’ll find yourself in the running to take the title down.

MPNPT satellites are running now from as little as €0.25. Find a full list of participating card rooms and the latest info at www.mpnpokertour.com.

Watch out for the chacha!

You might be there for the poker but there’s plenty to see in Tbilisi when you’re not winning monies at the table.

Perched on the banks of the Mtkvari river, Tbilisi is a beautiful city. Head to Rustaveli Avenue for a culture blast, with opera houses, museums, cinemas and art galleries. Make sure you check out the Georgian National Museum before sitting down to sample the food and drink.

You can’t go to Georgia without trying the fantastic khachapuri – flatbread stuffed with cheese, eggs and other tasty ingredients. Wash this down with a shot of local chacha, a clear Georgian brandy, also known as grape vodka. They might claim it has medicinal properties, but it’s also strong enough to blow a hole in the top of your head. There are lots of great restaurants in Tbilisi but Kalakuri, which also houses a nightclub, is brilliant.
