The first-ever PokerStars Festival in London is officially live with a £2k NLHE High Roller event underway today.
It’s the first big tournament in a festival that will run for the next five days with a plethora of events including a DeepStack special, the PokerStars Cup and a ladies event.
The biggest draw is the £990 buy-in Main Event, which begins this Saturday.
It’s all taking place at the historic Hippodrome Casino in Leicester Square.
Cody, Boeree Among Pros to Play
As you might expect English Team PokerStars Pros Liv Boeree and Jake Cody are already on site with plenty more U.K. pros expected to take a seat in one of the various tournaments.
Chris Moorman, Niall Farrell and Paul Newey have already bought into the high roller.
PokerStars Festivals are not limited to just tournaments, however, and there will be a couple signature cash games running the entire span of the festival.
Players can buy into the £1/£3 NLH Shock Clock or the £2/£5 NLH Deep Stack, which should both be running around the clock.
Because it’s a PokerStars Festival there will also be a number of non-poker related activities including a trademark player party in addition to Blackjack, Roulette and Craps tournaments.
The PokerStars Festival in London is just the second festival event that PokerStars has hosted as part of its revamped live tournament schedule.
The first-ever PokerStars Festival took place in New Jersey last fall.
There are still qualifiers running for the festival’s Main Event on PokerStars if you want to take a last shot at entry without paying the £990 buy-in.
