My online tournament grind hadn’t been so great, I heard there had been some nice value in the Boylepoker IPO satties. Given that I will probably need 3 tickets I deposited a few quid. I didn’t manage to win a ticket however I did manage to come 3rd in the Monday Highroller on Boylepoker for 5k which takes the sting out of a bad few weeks. Now hopefully I can kick on win a few tickets to boot. Still hacking away in the WCOOP with no success watching BOGMICKG and Rory Brown clean up.
The Winimax 6 max €550 event starts tomorrow in the Regency, its supposed to be very good value so I am going to take a trip out and fire a few bullets. It could be better timed with the Ryder Cup on but sure I am sure they will have tellies showing it. It’s a pretty epic weekend of sport with the all Ireland Hurling Final and the Conor Mc Gregor fight. Everyone seems to have an opinion on the fight and here is mine. Conor is no doubt an exceptional fighter and you cant argue with him being favorite. However Dustin Poirer operates at a level far superior to anything Conor has ever fought before. Dustin had 1st round ko’s of both of Conor’s last 2 opponents. He’s a younger fighter and just changed to a better training set up recently, so its fair to say his progress should be equal at a minimum to Conors. Conor was 4/11 v Max Holiday and Brando who were both un ranked opponents, I can’t see how hes 4/11 v a guy ranked 5th in the world who fought top 5 guys in the Korean Zombie and Club Swanson and put in decent performances. There is still a lot of question marks surround Mc Gregor which will be answered Saturday night when he finally fights a truly World class fighter. I hope he answers these in style cause hes been so much fun but I am going to take an emotional hedge by backing Poirer at the 11/5 that is available with Boylesports. I don’t think its anything to go wild on, I am no expert on the fight game but like seems value to me.
