Villa-Lobos Wrangles Baby Whale, Talbot & Nitsche Score

888poker Team Pro Nicolau Villa-Lobos has played 888’s second largest Sunday Major many times.

Never has he played as long as last Sunday.

The talented Brazilian, known online as Nicofellow, made a deep run all the way to the final table in the 888poker Baby Whale before finishing in fifth place.

It earned him $5,700 – not his biggest career score by any means, but a satisfying one all the same.

Best “Baby Whale” So Far

“It was my best run in this MTT so far,” said the Brazilian.

“The critical hand for me was when we were 7 left, all-in pre flop at a standard flip. QQ vs AK, A in the river. This hand made me change my strategy as a short stack.”

Asked about the level of play this week in the Baby Whale, Nico replied: “In general this is a tough field but I have to admit that I didn’t have much trouble running deep.

“Even the final table was softer that I expected.”

Another weekend, another cash.

Talbot, Nitsche Score; Moorman in London

888poker’s latest edition to their Pro Team – Parker ‘tonkaaaa’ Talbot – also had a good weekend at the tables.

Talbot both made the money in the Sunday Deepstack Monsoon and reached the final table in the Octopus.

German prodigy Dominik Nitsche, meanwhile, performed as usual and sat at the final two tables of both the $120k Mega Deep and the $50k Crocodile.

England’s top tournament player Chris Moorman hasn’t been at the online tables since early February but recently tweeted that he’ll be present at the 888poker Easter edition live event.

This event takes place in 888poker’s own poker room at the Aspers Casino in Stratford, East London.
